About Keith Royal
|
Keith Royal started as an apprentice in 1970 at an architectural woodworking firm in Chicago. He joined the millworker's union in 1971 and graduated with honors as a journeyman cabinet maker and went to Illinois State Competition in 1975. A few years later he started as a finisher apprentice and became head finisher in a shop in 1979. He started his own business in 1982, building custom cabinets and restoring antiques. The business continued to grow until there were 8 employees building custom entertainment centers and kitchens. In 1990 he worked as an independent salesman for the country's largest supplier of hardware and supplies and tools for the woodworking industry. Yearning to return to his love of crafting furniture and cabinetry, he relocated to the beautiful and more rural area of Saint Joseph, Michigan and re-opened Royal Enterprizes. Now he is building custom furniture, cabinetry and cypress arches to be used in weddings or upscale gardens. |
